Voronezh, a major Russian industrial center, endured a large-scale drone attack during the night of October 25 and 26, 2026. The strike targeted specific manufacturing facilities, sparking fires across the city's industrial and residential zones.

Ukrainian open-source intelligence channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+ identified two primary targets. The Voronezhsintezkauchuk plant, a synthetic rubber and polymer facility owned by the Sibur group, was struck. The channels also confirmed hits on the Voronezh Aircraft Production Association, known as VASO, which manufactures components for the Ilyushin Il-96 airliner under the United Aircraft Corporation.

Aleksandr Gusev, the Governor of Voronezh Oblast, spoke with Interfax to confirm that fires broke out at several industrial businesses. He did not name the specific companies in his initial official statement. Gusev described the incidents as having no significant consequences, a characterization that differs from damage reports provided by local media and observers.

The governor reported that the blast effects and debris damaged facades and windows in nearly every district of the city. Beyond the plants, fires started in a business center, an apartment building, two dacha settlements, a school stadium, and a garage cooperative. Air defense units intercepted more than 70 drones directly over the city, raising the total count for the wider area and surrounding districts to 113.

Russian media outlet Astra provided specific location data for the impacts. A drone struck the Galereya Chizhova business center at 35A Koltsovskaya Street, with video capturing the explosion. The outlet also identified explosion sites near residential buildings at 52A 25th Yanvarya Street and 4K Arkhitektora Troitskovo Street. Additional damage was recorded at the Uritsky residential complex on 135 Uritskovo Street.

At a car park on 275/1 45th Strelkovoy Divizii Street, at least ten vehicles caught fire. Astra readers reported hearing explosions and air defense operations for over an hour. The city remained covered in smoke during the engagement, and residents noted that no formal air-raid warning was issued before the strikes began.

Local authorities are currently assessing the full extent of the damage to both public and private property. The high number of intercepts indicates a coordinated launch designed to test the region's air defense systems. The attack targeted facilities critical to Russia's aviation and petrochemical sectors.
